Sigongsa Co., Ltd. has two divisions: Sigong Books, devoted to books for adult readers, and Sigong Junior, devoted to children’s books. Sigong’s founding vision since its creation in 1990 roughly translates to “imparting knowledge and feeling over time and space” (“time and space” being the translation of the company’s name). The “Sigong Discovery Series” is just one example from its publishing library, reflecting this idea in its delivery each year of hundreds of topics from the fields of literature, humanities, the arts, religion and philosophy, economics and business and hobbies in its single-volume creations, bringing hope, inspiration and positive changes to readers’ lives. Sigong Junior began in 1993 with its “Neverland Illustrated Book” Series. The goal of the Sigong Junior division is to bring to young Korean readers those children’s books most loved by children across the world, as well as books from both Korea and abroad possessing timeless value and inspirational content. Sigong Junior volumes target all ages from preschool to high school. Korean translations of award-winning foreign titles such as C.S. Lewis’ , Roald Dahl’s , and Maurice Sendak’s are among popular favorites in its showcase. Sigong Junior division has also recently begun to expand its efforts to publish original works by domestic authors.
